SUMMARY:3rd EU Conference on Connected & Automated Driving – EUCAD 2021
DESCRIPTION:The European Commission\, together with the ARCADE project\, are pleased to announce the third European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving\, which will be held virtually from 20 to 22 April 2021. \n\n\n\n\nThis year’s conference entitled as ‘EUCAD 2021: Yes\, we CCAM! Partnership for Europe‘ reveals the EC intention to establish a new European Partnership on Cooperative\, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) under Horizon Europe. The partnership aims to align better public and private efforts through a common and long-term R&I agenda. It will serve to accelerate the implementation of smart\, innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for all. \nEUCAD 2021 will be a high-level and evidence-based conference\, where policy challenges meet innovative solutions to deliver on societal benefits. The event is the only conference in Europe that brings together political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with high-level representatives of industry\, knowledge institutes and road authorities to exchange knowledge and experience on the most recent technological developments and policies in the area of CCAM. \nOver the course of three days\, EU leaders\, CEOs and representatives from academia and major road transport stakeholders will discuss interactively on: \n• The vision and objectives of the upcoming CCAM Partnership;\n• The role of R&I to answer specific policy goals and societal issues\, illustrating the need for European political and technological leadership in developing cooperative\, connected and automated mobility solutions;\n• Exploring the way forward towards CCAM implementation by identifying next challenges through multisector cooperation; \nParticipants will enjoy a blend of policy-oriented plenary sessions\, as well as thematic breakout sessions to discuss specific R&I challenges. A virtual exhibition of exciting and interesting projects will be accessible throughout the three-day event. Registration to the conference is free and will open in early 2021.

SUMMARY:HEADSTART WEEK
DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS HEADSTART \nHEADSTART is a European Union funded project in charge of defining a harmonized European testing and validation methodology of CAD functions including its key enabling technologies (i.e. V2X communication\, cyber-security\, positioning) and to demonstrate its benefits through different applied use-cases. \nTHE HEADSTART WEEK \nThe project is now almost halfway through its duration\, so it is important for us to have the opportunity of presenting both the current results and the future activities as well. For this purpose\, a whole week is organised with a daily webinar in which the results to date will be presented and dialogue with you directly as consensus building is one of the main objectives of the project. \n\n\nThese webinars will also be inter-active sessions engaging participants with questions and discussion: your opinion is important for HEADSTART! \nThe HEADSTART methodology in which we have harmonized different European initiatives and included Automated Driving key enabling technologies will be presented. A dedicated session for each of the selected use cases (Highway Pilot\, Truck platooning and Traffic Jam Chauffeur) will follow\, as well as a planning on how the validation methodology will be applied. In each of these use-case dedicated sessions\, the participants will be able to discuss how to validate the AD driving function as well as how the KETs will be handled. Finally\, a dedicated session on Cybersecurity as a transversal topic which has a great impact in CAD functions validation will be organised so as to discuss how HEADSTART addresses cybersecurity within the whole validation chain. \n\n  \nAGENDA \n\n\nMonday: 9:45 – 10:00 CET              Presentation of the HEADSTART week\nMonday: 10:00 – 11:30 CET            Overall methodology and processes for testing and validation of automated vehicles\nTuesday: 10:00 – 11:30 CET            HEADSTART validation methodology applied for the truck platooning use case\nThursday: 10:00 – 11:30 CET          Validation of use case: Traffic jam chauffer\nFriday: 10:00 – 11:30 CET                Cybersecurity validation in automated driving\nFriday: 11:30 – 11:45 CET                  Wrap-up & lessons from HEADSTART WEEK webinar\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION\nTo register\, please visit here. Each webinar is free and independent. This means that each participant is free to decide which webinars prefer to attend. To find out more\, visit the HEADSTART WEEK webpage\, available here.

SUMMARY:ERTICO ACADEMY WEBINAR: CONNECTED AND AUTOMATED DRIVING SAFETY ASSURANCE
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, 08 May 2020\, at 15:00-16:00 CEST\, ERTICO Academy Webinar will host a discussion on Connected and Automated Driving Safety Assurance.\nDuring the webinar\, a dialogue with international experts\, coming from different national and international research projects\, leading the development of CAD validation methodologies\, will take place. The experts will present and discuss how these methodologies deal with the main test instances used today (simulation\, proving ground testing and open road trials) and how they reconcile other side technologies that are critical for CAVs (e.g. positioning\, communications and cybersecurity) in order to answer the needs of different stakeholders (developers\, consumer testing\, regulators\, etc..).\nThe webinar\, co-hosted by ERTICO Academy and HEADSTART project will mainly focus on HEADSTART\, aiming to show how it is progressing in the development of a harmonized European level solution that takes into account AD\, its Key Enabling Technologies and its most relevant users. For the webinar please register here .\nFor more information\, please visit here.
